The first idea of Truth About Bills came up in late 2010. Andrew and I were discussing politics. Now Andrew is very comfortable with politics and I on the under hand was like most of America where I knew enough to get by. While discussing politics with Andrew I started to think about what was going on with our nation and how I might be able to make an impact for the better. Truth About Bills serves a dual purpose for me. I learn best by teaching others as I learn and most importantly hopefully we can inform America.

When we were discussing what we wanted with the first thing that came to mind was our generation. We understood that a lot of our generation is oblivious to what is happening with our nation and what was going on with the White House. So that became our main purpose with the website, that we would primarily try to educate our age group. The second thing was how could we educate our audience and keep them informed. So Andrew and I decided that we would keep the audience informed with news and educated with what was going on in Congress.  So on Dec. 13, 2010 we decided to start Truth About Bills and on Dec. 14, 2010 Andrew and I started working on the website.

While working on Truth About Bills we decided that we would work for a Feb. 1, 2011 launch,  just before CPAC. At the earliest we were hoping that we would have it ready mid-way through January. However, Andrew and I were so excited for the website that we had it finished by Dec. 23, 2010. At that point we decided to control ourselves and not launch the website until Jan. 1, 2011. So we used the rest of that week and a half to make sure our site was as good as we could make it. We even had the fortunate opportunity to meet Leah just before we launched and Nicole just after we launched, both of whom shared our vision of educating America. So when we launched the site we had four writers for the site.

During the first month of our site being launched it was just as you would expect, kind of slow going. Now don’t get me wrong we were getting hits but Truth About Bills was a new site so it wasn’t anything crazy. Though we did meet some great people from Truth for American Teens and then later Future Voices of America. With their help we were able to gain some more followers and we continued along through the month. Then came along CPAC in February and Andrew was able to attend on behalf of Truth About Bills. There Andrew was able to meet a lot of new people that would shortly there after help us out. He was also able to obtain some interviews that included Herman Cain among others. From that point the site continued on its way and at the end of the month America started to see the issue of Collective Bargaining become more of a national issue. We have received a lot of recognition for covering these protest events across the country.

Now we are just a little over a week away from the official launch of what we like to call TAB 2.0. While we have received a lot of help from our readers in spreading our message, we didn’t believe that we were helping our readers enough. With the launch of TAB 2.0 we wanted to give our readers an easier way to help spread the news. We are glad to have all of this support and we hope that with the help of our readers we will continue to grow, to become a go to source for news.
