It’s Easier to Cry Racism Than be Responsible

“I am so sick of the media dictating the terms of the narrative in this country, I am so sick of having to be apologetic for who I am, I am so sick of people in Middle America being called fly over country or slope headed.”- Andrew Breitbart.

From the moment I saw Andrew Breitbart’s trailer for the upcoming movie Hating Breitbart  at CPAC, I was inspired to write this article.  I slowly saw more and more of what he refers to in the trailer and I became a little more inspired.  I then watched President Obama’s video for African American’s for Barrack Obama 2012.  That’s when I knew it was time to write this regardless of the names I would be called and the beliefs some would insinuate that I hold.

Racism is still around Today

The other night a close friend of mine, who is a Conservative activist and writer posted the Obama video that I referred to on his Facebook page.  He commented on how it was a divisive and a racially charged attempt to obtain votes.  He was immediately jumped on by a liberal who sarcastically responded that, “Those damn black people, always dwelling on how they’re systemically discriminated against and trying to overcome it. So racist.”  I found this to be particularly disturbing and so I commented to this person and a rather fierce debate ensued on how minorities and women are still oppressed and discriminated against in America.  In the course of this debate I found myself coming to conclusions that I hadn’t really thought of until that time.

One of them being this; Discrimination in America today is an excuse for failure, plain and simple.  People today do not want to work for success and instead it is easier for them to come up with a reason for why they have been discriminated against.  I simply do not accept this.  There were good men in the early twentieth century that over came real discrimination and racism in order to provide a better life for minorities today.  Instead of reaping these benefits and making something of their lives, they have chosen to hide behind this perceived racism and injustice that the left has sold to them in order to receive their votes.

See it’s easier to be a liberal and feel like you are not responsible for your future.  It sucks to be an adult and have to work and fight for every little bit of success you attain in life.  I remember when I saw the last Rocky movie; there is a scene where Rocky is arguing with his kid about how Rocky reflects on him.  The particularly relevant quote comes toward the end of the conversation, Rocky says:

The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!”

I don’t think I have seen it said better anywhere else.  It is what cowards do and it is being taught and indoctrinated into kids today so they don’t even try for anything more in their lives.

As I continued the debate with this misguided young lady a few things happened that I found to be very interesting.  The first was that my liberal counterpart switched gears and delved into the discrimination of women and began to spout various liberal talking points to me, but one in particular proved my hypothesis about personal responsibility outright.  She remarked “…women are mainly going into fields like education and the liberal arts which don’t offer as many opportunities, whereas there is a majority of men in business, engineering, and technology fields, which is where the money and ergo power is.”

This proved to me that people on the left just do not want to take responsibility for their own future.  Is it really anyone else’s fault what you choose for a major?  Is my college the only one that allows people to declare whatever major that want regardless of ethnicity or gender?

Racism in today’s World

As we entered into the topic of gender discrimination, a particularly bright young lady who I had the privilege of working with at CPAC joined the discussion, her name is Courtney Mattison.  She brought up a particularly good point about women in politics and the hypocritical nature of the left when dealing with such things.  She remarked,

The problem with progressives and minorities, is that the second that a member of a minority doesn’t confirm to their agenda and threatens the support of a group they’ve long exploited they attack them as unrepresentative of their own demographics.”

You see the left must continue to foster this idea that these demographics are oppressed because if they do not then they have lost all power over that group and their all-important votes.  You see there are plenty of successful minorities in the Republican Party who got there by hard work and steadfast dedication.  The reason for this is the right is a refuge of free thought and the freedom to choose your own destiny.  The left seeks to keep people in their position and keep them just comfortable enough to not want anything more.  The left seeks to control and dictate the thoughts of its constituents as well as that of the entire country.

There is a force on the left that seeks to silence people like me who would wish to explain to people that there is in fact more to life than just hiding behind a perceived injustice to your race.  In America, we shouldn’t be defining ourselves by race because in truth we are all Americans and because of this we all have the opportunity to succeed.  The left would say I am a racist and a bigot for saying that racism and discrimination are practically a non-factor in today’s college and job market.  I say practically because there will always be those groups on both sides that wish to cling to their race as a means of hatred for others.

Promoting Racism?

A perfect example is the doctrine of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago where Barrack Obama was a member under Jeremiah Wright.  The doctrine that I am referring to is known as the Black Value System.  This system seeks to elevate only the black community.  I often wonder why this is considered to be an okay attitude to have?  Shouldn’t we be seeking to elevate every community in America and provide a better life for all of us?  Jesus didn’t just come for Blacks or Whites or Hispanics, he came for everyone and in that example so should we.  This is one of the ways the left has fostered the cause of racism, by intertwining it with religion.

In the end of my debate with this young lady she posted an article on a recent study that has been done that shows that people with lower IQs tend to lean toward racism and conservative thought.  As I explained to her this is so typical of the left, they will try and invalidate your argument by telling you that you are uneducated and a racist.  I am here to tell you that no longer should those on the politically correct left silence us.  Another gentleman whom I had the pleasure of speaking with during this argument was a young man named Caleb David.  He replied to this smear tactic better than anyone else could have.  He simply replied as he was saying good night, “I have a full day of work tomorrow because my low IQ enabled me to graduate early.”

This small remark, I believe, strikes fear in the heart of the left.  For so long they have held the intellectual high ground but in my generation there is an army of young educated conservatives who are coming out to meet this attitude of political correctness and false racism head on and in the end the truth will always win out.

So to bring this to a close, I would like to say that yes, I am declaring war on the far left and it’s attempts to distort my generation with claims of racism and political correctness.  I am declaring war on those who would seek to rob my generation, black and white, of our birthright as American citizens through these lies.  I am a proud Conservative and even prouder of my Conservative peers who like me are out fighting for this cause everyday regardless of what is said about us.
