GAP Advantage
Most cars depreciate by thousands of dollars as soon as they are purchased. And if your vehicle is stolen, accidentally damaged beyond repair, or otherwise declared as a total loss, you are still liable to pay the difference, the “gap” between your insurer’s settlement and your loan balance.
GAP Advantage waives the difference between your primary insurance carrier’s settlement and the payoff of your loan, less delinquent payments, late charges, and refundable service warranty contracts and other insurance related charges. Included in this difference is your insurance deductible, up to $1,000. An additional credit provided is $1,000 toward the purchase of a replacement vehicle if you finance your replacement vehicle at Trailhead.
It also covers Auto Deductible Reimbursement, so if you suffer a loss during the coverage period which is covered by your auto policy, you may be entitled to reimbursement of your deductible. Reimbursement will be equal to the Covered Auto Deductible on the auto policy, up to $500 per loss (limit of two losses per year).
Mechanical Repair Coverage
Mechanical Breakdown Protection (MBP) helps pay for covered repairs on your car when that unexpected breakdown occurs. For a few dollars a month, you can protect your vehicle and your finances from expenses that could total hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
$2,000 INSURANCE COVERAGE PAID FOR YOU BY TRAILHEAD CREDIT UNION
As a Trailhead Credit Union member age 18 or older you can help protect your family’s financial future with Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance underwritten by Minnesota Life Insurance Company. In addition to the $2,000.00 Credit Union Paid coverage, you can purchase Additional Coverage at group rates.
- You are pre-authorized for Additional Coverage up to $300,000
- Your acceptance is guaranteed – No Medical Exams or Health Questions
- Benefits are paid to your beneficiary if you die from a covered accident
You cannot be turned down for the Credit Union Paid Coverage —or any additional coverage you may select. All coverage reduces by 50% at age 70 and older, regardless of age at enrollment.
Remember, the $2,000.00 coverage is at no cost to you. It’s compliments of Trailhead Credit Union.
